LEVY COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCE 75-50 SOLID WASTE FLOW CONTROL
Yankeetown now participates in curb-side pickup for recyclable material. Residents who have a garbage account with the Town may pick up the recycle bin at Town Hall during normal business hours.
If you witness illegal dumping, please report it to the appropriate authorities.
For more information on recycling see the link below or the Levy County Landfill Recycling web site.
If you have items to dispose of that are not acceptable to put into the recycle bin for recycling, Levy County operates a Class III landfill and a transfer station. The landfill will accept and dispose of waste tires, white goods (old appliances), construction and demolition debris, used oil, limb and brush. See the Levy County Solid Waste website for their fee schedule.
Levy County Landfill's hazardous waste program accepts household waste collected within the county. An amnesty day is instituted to accept these items on Wednesday of each week at no charge to the public (household only - no commercial operations). Hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. See the Levy County Hazardous Waste web site for more information. A list of the most common Household Hazardous Waste Items is available as well as an explanation of what is considered a hazardous waste. Items not accepted for disposal:
