Petition for Yankeetown water main appropriations request.

The current lack of access to fire hydrants and potable water in these areas presents significant challenges and concerns, including potential health risks, reduced property values, and limited opportunities for growth and development. By securing the requested funding, we can ensure that all residents have reliable access to fire protection and clean water, thereby improving the quality of life and fostering a more vibrant and sustainable community.

This area is seeing increased residential construction which is currently dependent on well water and lacks proximal access to fire hydrants for fire protection. Saltwater intrusion is impacting the efficacy of well water in the area.

We urge the town officials and relevant authorities to prioritize this matter and take immediate action to allocate the necessary funds for this critical infrastructure project. Our community's future depends on it, and we trust that our elected representatives will recognize the importance of this request.
